Engineering Design

After the conception design phase and feasibility studies a project enters the engineer phase during which engineering studies may include, according to the type of project:

  • electrical facilities
  • ICT facilities
  • computing
  • cost control and scheduling

All these types of engineering studies are covered and fully managed within EEG.

According to the nature of a project, engineering studies will include all or part of the following steps:

Basic Engineering Design (BED) covering:

  • Conceptual process studies and preliminary designs.
  • Preliminary drawings.
  • Definition and sizing of main equipment.
  • Specification of items.
  • Moreover, generally speaking, all the basic studies required to support a Basic Engineering Design Package (BEDP) containing all data needed by a competent contractor to perform the Detail Engineering.

Front End Engineering Design (FEED) covering:

  • Preparation of tender packages.
  • Elaboration of the main piping, instrument, electrical and ICT works layouts.

Detail Engineering, covering:

  • Development of detailed drawings, including simulations and all electrical calculations.
  • Development of detailed drawings related to instrumentation, electrical facilities and ICT works.
  • Cost and schedule control.
