Sheet E-05 · About eeekenya.com
Built by Practicing Engineers, for the Kenyan Profession
Since 2015, eeekenya.com has been the practical hub for electrical building services in Kenya — reference documents, hands-on training, consultancy support, and directories of licensed firms.
Why This Site Exists
eeekenya.com started in 2015 with a simple observation: Kenyan engineering graduates leave university knowing theory, but the documents the profession actually runs on — BOQs, specifications, load schedules, tender packs — are nowhere to be found until you are handed one on a live project and expected to already understand it.
So we started publishing them. Real reference documents from real Kenyan building projects, free to study and adapt. The library grew into training built the same way — on real drawings, not textbook exercises — and then into consultancy support for firms and directories of licensed contractors and consultants.
Everything on this site serves one idea: the fastest way to build a competent, honest electrical engineering profession in Kenya is to show people how good work actually looks.
The Engineer Behind It
Run by a Registered Professional Engineer
eeekenya.com is run by a registered Professional Engineer (EBK) with over a decade of electrical building services design, consultancy, and university teaching experience in Kenya — currently pursuing PhD research in high-voltage engineering at TU Delft in the Netherlands.
That combination is deliberate: the site stays anchored in day-to-day Kenyan practice while drawing on current research and international standards. For his research, writing, and speaking, visit benardmakaa.com.

What We Stand For
01
Practice Over Theory
Everything here comes from real projects — real BOQs, real drawings, real site problems. If it hasn’t survived contact with a Kenyan building site, it doesn’t belong on this site.
02
Kenya-Specific
Kenyan regulations, Kenyan market conditions, Kenyan project realities. Generic international content is everywhere; context is what’s scarce — and context is what we publish.
03
Licensed & Verified
Unlicensed operators hurt clients and undercut honest firms. Our directories verify EBK/EPRA licences, and our own work is signed by a registered PE.
