Sheet E-01 · DOC-05

Regulations, Codes & Standards

The Kenyan regulations and the codes and standards that govern electrical installations — what applies, where to get it, and how the pieces fit together.

How to Use These Documents

Kenyan electrical practice sits on several layers: the Energy Act and EPRA regulations govern licensing and supply; KEBS adopts the standards that govern installation practice (including the IEC-based wiring rules); and county approvals govern buildings. Some source documents are purchased from the issuing bodies — where that applies, the row links to the official source rather than a copy, because distributing purchased standards is not ours to do.
