With the increasing and sophisticated security threats (from criminals and terrorists) it behooves us to give careful attention to security systems designs. A blunder made during design stage may lead to deadly& costly implications (including loss of life). There are there are no second chances when it comes to security matters. This article attempts to highlight the various components of security systems.

The foundation of Security is conceptualized around the most basic of needs– Security/ICT. The standard defense against security concerns includes guards, fences and so on – in essence all mechanical systems. Relying on purely mechanical systems can lead to colossal security failures. This is where digital security systems come in to a league of their own. Digital systems overcome the inherent limitations of mechanical systems and ensure complete peace of mind.

Since personal security is a sensitive issue, it is advisable to order or look for bespoke solutions as per project/client’s requirements.

Basic Security Services/Products

  • CCTV Surveillance systems
  • Access Control Systems
  • Automatic Gates and Barriers
  • Intruder Detection systems
  • Electric Fences
  • Smoke Cloak Fog systems
  • Turnstiles and Bollards
  • Baggage Scanners and Walk through metal detectors
  • Personal and Advanced Security Gadgets

CCTV SURVEILLANCE

To protect your home and business high-resolution surveillance cameras are a necessity. Basic CCTV camera types include: Dome Camera, Bullet Camera, and PTZ Camera.

Must have features in the CCTV Surveillance:

Camera analytics: In-built camera intelligence which prompts the system to raise alarm or alerts when it detects the following: Loitering, Motion, Objects appearing in area, etc.

Integration: It must be integrated with other security & safety systems such as access control and intruder alarm so as to enable auto-tracking.

The system must record on a full time basis or on motion (every time there is movement) and playback events at will as well as have the capability to view the cameras remotely using a Cell phone, tablet or PC.

Benefits of CCTV:

  • Prevent Theft and Illicit activities
  • Protect Employees
  • Maintain Records and back up of events
  • Aid local authorities
  • Receive Email alerts when motion is detected after office hours

ACCESS CONTROL

With digital access control, you can say goodbye to keys and hello to Keyless Entry

Deter possible intrusion by audible and visual alerting options

Instant notification to first response team via radio

Scalable solution allowing for installation of   additional sensors when required

Access control systems are effective systems when it comes to restricting access in the office environment.

Benefits of Access Control:

  • Restrict unauthorized Access
  • Track entry/exit of personnel
  • Allow restricted access to the work place after office hours
  • Eliminate key problems – duplications, jams, etc.

AUTOMATIC GATES & BARRIERS

Improve security at your residence/business by automating your gate. We can convert any gate into an automated one.

Benefits of Gate Automation:

  • Open/Close gate from the comfort of your own home/vehicle
  • Reduce Gate opening times
  • Solar panel and battery backup ensures that your gates are always operating
  • Integrate with intercoms, beams and other access control devices
  • Provides security for children and pets

ELECTRIC FENCES

Electric Fences are now a common non-lethal effective barrier protection system for most households and businesses.

Benefits of Electric Fences

  • Effective physical and psychological barrier against intruders
  • Integrate with existing alarms systems
  • Durable and easy to maintain
  • Add sensor switches to automatically adjust sensitivity
  • Zoning provides information on attempted point of entry

TURNSTILES, BOLLARDS & TRAPS

Effective crowd control is essential when it comes to certain types of businesses. Turnstiles offer an effective solution for employee management and crowd movement especially in super markets, large factories and the like.

Rising or fixed bollards are the ultimate solution in vehicle barriers. The main benefit of rising bollards is that they operate even in the event of a vehicle knocking into them. Operated automatically, bollards can be programmed to allow certain vehicles at allocated times to ensure effective vehicle control

UVIS (UNDER VEHICLE INSPECTION SYSTEM)

These are designed to provide a crystal clear image of the underside of the vehicle – from small cars to trucks up to 60 feet.

The best of UVIS use LED infrared lighting, which has numerous merits: no sensitivity to sunlight, long life, low power consumption, and, contrary to halogen, invisible to the ‘audience’.

BAGGAGE SCANNERS

Baggage inspection systems range in size, throughput capacity, and optional accessories. X-ray baggage scanners are used at airports and transport stations. Bags need to be detected through x ray machines and sometimes get wiped down to check for dangerous or forbidden items. These X-ray inspection systems are ideal for screening everything from small packages to oddly shaped items and palletized loads.

The latest in baggage scanning technology looks kind of like the CT scanner hospitals use to look inside the human body .The Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) machine runs with CT scan technology, modified to detect explosives in baggage and taking the place of security agents who manually swab each bag. Fully-automated, the machine can scan at the rate of 240 bags an hour. This new generation CT-like scanner displays dynamic images using a baggage scanning technology called Array Motion Imaging (AMI). AMI presents a moving image of baggage to the machine operator, as though someone were turning it around from side to side or up and down, enabling them to see all areas of the bag. CT scanners are slow compared to other types of baggage-scanning systems and thus they are not used to check every bag. Instead, only bags that the computer flags as “suspicious” are checked. These flags are triggered by any anomaly that shows up in the reservation or check-in process.

WALK THROUGH METAL DETECTORS

These have security features integrated for inspection at checkpoints and access controlled entry. The best are multi-zone ones which are used primarily for weapons detection. Typical applications include passenger screening at airports and seaports, visitor screening at courthouses, federal buildings and prisons, access control in conferences, public buildings, sporting or other special events, stadiums and concerts, employee and visitor screening in power plants or factories, loss prevention in different industrial applications as well as screening in hotels, restaurants, casinos, and night clubs.

Independent Zones Provide for:

  • Superior discrimination
  • Reliable detection of threat items
  • High traffic throughput
  • Reliable location of threats
